The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has been the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners since 1857.
The AIA needed a way to make their vast archives of articles accessible to the architecture community, but were searching for something more than just an online library. The concept aimed to not only make these resources known, but also to utilize them to spark discussions as well as to educate the architectural community at large.
The solution allowed users to learn about the business of architecture, contribute to the industry by rating, sharing and commenting on articles, as well as earning AIA points for their participation.
Points are earned by reading, writing, rating, commenting, sharing, following and inviting others into the app. By challenging colleagues to compete for levels, a gamification component is created resulting in a much more robust experience.
