As part of the development process for the IceBreaker networking app, potential users matching the target demographic were interviewed to determine their networking style and needs. A questionnaire was created that included demographic, technical as well as more personal/goal-oriented questions. This combination made the interviews much more personal and engaging.
Three distinct user profiles were revealed ranging from shy job seekers to frequent and confident networkers. This information was used to refine the core functionality of the app in order to serve the needs of a wide variety of users.
It was so enjoyable to engage in conversations with users and uncover so many valuable insights that improved upon the original concept and made for a far superior product.
